Wil Campa y Su Gran Union

Born Wilfredo Campa, first toured outside of  his native Cuba as the lead singer in Adolpho Guzman’s group. They toured throughout Spain, Finland, Germany, Martinique, Netherlands, Brazil and produced two albums.

Wil moved on to become the lead vocalist with Orlando Valle and then in 1988 took on that role with the prestigious group Maraca. Maraca toured in the United States, Canada, Europe and Latin America for the most important Jazz Festivals in the world. That experience brought him into contact with a host of great musicians; Wynton Marsalis, Poncho Sanchez el Gran Combo de Puerto Rico, Natalie Cole as well as the major Cuban artists made famous through the Buena Vista Social Club

Wil performed on three Maraca recordings including the 2002 Grammy Tremenda Rumba .

After leaving Maraca, Wil formed Su Gran Union and released his first recording, Es Tiempo in 2008.

His first tour of Canada in 2008 was a great success and this summer he’ll be performing a dozen concerts in Western Canada
